My second attempt at painting an image. I think it turned out alright, though I hate the ear, and doing the hair was a real pain >__<!!!!
Skin tones are definately better in this one than my first one, same with the hair. Anyhoo, this is Oracle, one of my older characters who doesn't get enough love from me  She's supposed to be the prettiest, so I figured I'd paint her, rather than one of the others. She's very self confident and sexual, loves men, and considers women other than herself to be inferior. I figure she's looking at a woman in this picture XDI used this stock image: [link] from *UrielStock for the pose reference, and this wonderful tute: [link] from =mree for instructions on how to do the hair. Please be kind, I'm still learning this type of thing >__< Total time was about 12 hours (surprisingly). Sketched and inked by hand, scanned and coloured in Photoshop 7 using a Wacom graphics tablet, and a mouse, oddly enough. Art and character design is copywrite to me (Jigokuko), unauthorised re-use without my express written consent is prohibited. |

The shading is subtle, which is nice for a drawing like this. And everything is very sharp and well defined.

The thing that bugs me about the ear is that it's not very realistic, but I've found a tute here on dA how to do them properly, so I'll use that when I'm doing my next one

I figured that the hair was bright enough, so I made the background as unobtrusive as possible
I really hated doing that hair though XD It was a royal pain till I got the hang of it, of course, that was after I'd already spent 2 hours trying a couple of other methods
